SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Full Time - Mon to Fri | Long Term, Term Time Only - 9am to 3.30pm

£110-£130 per day (DOE)

Remedy Education is excited to support a new 11-19 special needs provision in Greenwich, and we are looking to recruit three dedicated SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs). This is a unique opportunity to be a key player in the establishment and growth of this innovative school.

Role Overview:

As an HLTA, you will:

- Support the class teacher and SENCO in all aspects of daily classroom management.
- Teach whole classes, small groups, and individual lessons in consultation with the class teacher.
- Take the lead in the absence of the class teacher, assessing, recording, and reporting on student development, progress, and attainment.
- Understand and implement the class teacher's curriculum planning.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored teaching and learning activities to individuals, small groups, and/or whole classes, adapting activities as necessary.
- Establish a supportive and nurturing relationship with pupils, promoting their independence and personal development.
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times and manage a range of behavioural approaches, including handling challenging behaviour.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Higher Level Teaching Assistant diploma or equivalent level 4 qualification (desirable but not required).
- GCSE Pass (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths.
- Relevant experience with SEN or PMLD/ASD pupils.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Experience in managing various behavioural approaches.
- Positive and creative in meeting pupils' individual needs.
