Close Down Accountant
Day Rate: £490 - £650
Contract: Initial 3 - 6 month contract with a view to being extended
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday.
Hybrid Working - Minimal Office Attendance
Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with a local authority in the South West of England with the recruitment of a Close Down Accountant.
Role Brief: Responsible for the strategic planning in the production and approval of the Council's audited statutory Statement of Accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Councils closure of accounts process, directing resources in producing the statutory Statement of Accounts, and other related returns.
- Leads the annual closing of the HRA account
- Keeps up-to-date with developments in the public and private sectors through active involvement in regional and national networks, setting strategies to ensure compliance to these.
What we're looking for:
- Fully qualified CCAB Accountant and with experience of working in a complex organisation.
- Evidence of work related continuing professional development.
- understanding of the current key developments in local authority finance.
