The Director of Housing is a pivotal role for Ability. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this broad ranging position offers the opportunity to spearhead and grow the strategic direction and operational delivery of Ability's Housing Management, Asset Management and Property Service remits.

With a demonstrable track record of driving performance and customer experience you will inspire your teams by encouraging continuous improvement across the directorate.

Adept in Social Housing knowledge you will play a key role within the senior leadership team, delivering a customer first approach to the tenants Ability help to maintain an independent life.

This role requires an accomplished leader who can demonstrate the following:

  • Substantial senior management experience leading Housing Management, Asset Management or Property Services
  • A thorough understanding and knowledge of the Social Housing regulatory framework and statutory requirements
  • Proven ability to contribute to and drive wider organisation strategies and functions
  • Working knowledge of Landlord Health and Safety, able to evidence a track record of ensuring compliance in this area
  • Experience of strong financial management and board accountability
  • Notable success from working in partnership with stakeholders and key partners at a senior level
  • Deep knowledge and experience of contract negotiation and management
