Electrical Estimator required for our client who are an established electrical and security services contractor, with a history of providing PPM and project works in London and surrounding areas, is seeking a new team member. Based in East London, the company has been delivering services to a diverse range of clients for 50 years, evolving from a small family-run business into a highly respected SME.
Their client base includes blue-chip companies, such as a premier league football club, and government institutions like educational facilities, universities, schools, NHS hospitals, critical research labs, buildings, and local authorities across London. They also serve a wide range of commercial and private businesses, holding term contracts for both electrical and security services.
Most of their work is concentrated in North and East London, Essex, and the southeast of England.
Electrical Estimator Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have experience in the electrical industry, including interpreting and implementing electrical designs, quantifying materials, and engaging with customers and suppliers. The role involves collaborating with a close-knit, experienced team of estimators and project managers to meet the needs of current and new clients.
- Experience in tendering electrical projects ranging from £20,000 - £1,000,000.
- Leading the implementation of our new estimating software
- Working on term contracts, full specified projects, and design & build works.
- Representing & conducting one to one meeting with the clients if required.
- Take offs from drawings, interpretation of specifications/drawings to project needs
- Dealing with wholesalers/subcontractors for quotations, and making sure they meet the requirements of the project
Electrical Estimator Position Requirements
- Experience using estimation software (Eque2 - Evaluate)
- Electrical City & Guilds / NVQ
- Qualification of electrical engineering HNC preferred but not essential
- In depth knowledge BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations
- A sound understanding of Construction Design Management (CDM)
- IT Skills: Microsoft Office (to include Advanced Excel)
- CCTV and Security industry experience/knowledge would also be preferred but not essential as training can be given.
- Based within a commutable distance to London, Essex and the southeast of England
Electrical Estimator Position Remuneration
- £55,000 - £60,000 DOE
- Laptop, IT equipment and Phone supplied
- Holiday entitlement will be 24 days per year plus bank holidays
- JIB Health care scheme
- Fixed Christmas bonus if conditions achieved
