Position Summary:

The HS&E Co-Ordinator provides direct support to the business in all matters pertaining to health, safety and the environment. The coordinator is independent of the operational business, providing assurance of compliance with systems requirements through coaching, inspection and audit. This role has a clear focus on continual improvement and will routinely develop the company arrangements for managing health and safety, supporting an interdependent safety culture.

Duties to include:

  • Create and circulate periodic performance reports from system leading and lagging indicators, identifying trends and making intervention recommendations.
  • Co-ordinate the production of workstation packs, ensuring legislative requirements are robustly met.
  • Create and distribute toolbox talks, investigation learning points and other relevant HS&E information with stakeholders.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents without bias, applying the just and fair model to outcomes and establishing root causes and corrective actions.
  • Provide oversight of all aspects of company operations against legal and industry compliance requirements
  • Be the main point of contact for enforcing authorities including the Health and Safety Executive, the Environmental Agency and local authorities for all statutory reporting and permitting requirements, ensuring submissions are made in the appropriate timescale
  • Ensure the inspection and audit regime is delivered to schedule, tracking actions to closure.
  • Deliver the internal reporting process, providing feedback to those raising issues and tracking actions, holding those assigned actions accountable for progress.

Candidates will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience and knowledge of working within a manufacturing/ engineering environment.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (REQUIRED).
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management (PREFERRED).
  • Technical IoSH membership (PREFERRED).
  • A passion for HS&E and the ability to influence at a senior level and champion change & implementation at all levels.
  • Great communications and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of weld fume and HAVS is desired.
  • IT Literate - Microsoft Office Applications.
