Trainee Conveyancing Assistant

Michelle Denny Recruitment is working alongside Hayward Moon a local property practice located in the heart of Diss in their search for a keen and enthusiastic individual to join as a Trainee Conveyancing Assistant.

Salary is dependant on your level of experience, with hours of 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week). The role comes with starting annual leave of 23 days, plus bank holidays.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for you if you are interested in starting a career in property law and are willing to learn and develop your office-based skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the conveyancing team and assist in the management of the practice's busy workload. You will be trained in all aspects of the conveyancing process, from opening files to post-completion work.

Duties will include:

  • Providing reception support, meeting & greeting visitors
  • Answering incoming calls and manage email traffic alongside dealing with general update enquiries from clients, estate agents and other third parties.
  • Certifying client ID and compliance checks, drafting standard documentation and correspondence.
  • Carry out land registry searches.
  • Setting up new client files and initial correspondence, creating and send mortgage reports/contract reports.
  • Providing support in exchanging contracts and setting up of completions of the transaction
  • Monitor external portals for updates/action
  • Request searches and management packs

Following initial training, you will also be operating a case management system, allowing you to independently generate correspondence and documents, so your responsibilities will grow as you learn!

What you'll need:

  • Ideally at least 1 years recent conveyancing experience.
  • A polite and friendly disposition with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent IT and communication skills
  • To be able to multi-skill, be well organised with strong administration skills.
  • To be a team player with the ability to prioritise tasks and work on your own initiative.
