Financial Controller

Are you an experienced Financial Controller used to working within SMEs? Would you like to work for a well-established business based in the Braintree area with free parking on site?

Transparent is pleased to support this highly reputed business in the recruitment of a Financial Controller to join this friendly and supportive team.

Reporting into the Group Senior FC, your role would be to provide full accounting services and controlling the day-to-day running of the finance function.

This is a senior role within the business with exposure to the Board. The company is part of an international group, therefore, liaising with other companies in the UK and other countries will form part of the role.

Overseeing a small finance team, your role will include:

  • Full responsibility for month end, quarterly and annual reporting
  • Management of cash balances and investments
  • Preparation of annual budget and monthly variance reporting
  • Attendance at company meetings to include monthly Teams meetings
  • Liaison with auditors to complete year end statutory financial accounts
  • Fixed asset register maintenance
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Overseeing the payroll run
  • Executive pension fund scheme administration
  • Providing reports to various business units on general day-to-day duties with financial aspects direct to the Group Senior FC or other Directors
  • Insight regarding sales and profitability
  • Capital budgeting and developing plans for long-term financial goals of the company

The Person:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Qualified by Experience also considered with the relevant industry background
  • Previous experience of working in an SME with the understanding of the need to support other team members when required
  • Positive and friendly disposition and supportive of your team
  • Good Excel skills
  • Good communicator
  • Experience in a manufacturing business would be an advantage.

The position offers a friendly and supportive environment working a 35-hour week over 5 days per week.
