School Business Manager

Are you a dedicated and professional School Business Manager looking for a new challenge? Do you have SIMS and FMS experience? Are you looking to make a significant impact in the education sector? If you answered yes to these questions then this is the job for you!

We are looking for a well experienced candidates to work as a school buisness manager across schools in Liverpool. This role is full-time (not term-time), a temporary to permanent position for the right person Monday - Friday. You are expected to have a working knowledge of the School Information Management System (SIMS), and especially FMS (the finance module). Applicants MUST have previous experience of working in an educational establishment, as you will be expected to hit the ground running and deliver a high standard of work in a fast-paced environment.

We ask that you have:

  • A qualification in Business Administration or Financial Management, up to degree level or equivalent
  • SIMS / FMS experience gained from working in a school
  • The ability to provide vision and advice to the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, Governors and the rest of the Finance and Administration Team
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Proven effective leadership skills
  • The ability to work with high levels of tact, confidentiality and discretion

  • Sound financial management of school resources and budgets, including preparation of school's annual accounts
  • Management of school Finance Team, and delegation of relevant activities
  • Liaison with DfE, EFA, HMRC, auditors and other external parties
  • Responsibility for funding and all financial / statutory returns
  • Reviewing and improving of school financial systems and internal controls, as well as negotiating school key contracts
