The Role:

As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire students to explore the world of design and technology. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Design & Technology lessons that align with the national curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Providing hands-on instruction in a variety of areas, such as product design, engineering, graphics, and textiles
  • Encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking through project-based learning activities
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links and enrichment opportunities that enhance students' understanding of design and technology concepts
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support their development and achievement
  • Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported to reach their full potential

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a background in Design & Technology education
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in the field of design and technology
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • The ability to create engaging and innovative teaching resources and activities
  • Experience working with secondary school students and an understanding of the national curriculum requirements for Design & Technology
  • A commitment to promoting health and safety practices in the design and technology workshop
