The Rates & Credit Suite of Applications is used daily by Fixed Income Traders and Middle Office Globally. These systems provide for all needs of Traders: providing liquidity to 10+ world's biggest multi-dealer platforms, receive and handle clients' trading requests to execute trades, capture and service the trades through their sometimes 50year life cycle. Product range is wide - starting from Bonds, extending to REPO, Interest Rate Swaps (IRS) and ending with Exotic Portfolios. Dealing with complex financial products, we build these systems with a traceability and recoverability in mind. Wide diversity of products allows to see different styles of processing but also requires technology expertise to find reuse opportunities between various processing flows and products.

As a Lead User Interface (UI) Engineer, you will be involved in the development of one of our next generation platforms for Rates & Credit Trading business which will kick-start this year and aims to be highly innovative and market-leading in its features.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the UI Team and work with business stakeholders on design of new features
  • Be involved in the design of the UI framework and responsible for writing clean, testable code with a min coverage of 90%
  • Code review of team members and code deployment to production
  • Co-working with Quality Assurance (QA) team to test UI functionality, when required
  • Investigate and fix production issues, when required

Your skills and experience

  • Strong demonstrable experience of developing and delivering highly performant data intensive/low latency applications with React & TypeScript
  • Experience in Front-end Software Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES5 and ES6+))
  • Good understanding of the Browser Application Programming Interface's (APIs) like Caching & WebSocket and with cross browser compatibility and optimization techniques/tools
  • Experienced Test-driven development (TDD) practitioner with either of the following testing frameworks Jest/Karma/Mocha/Jasmine
  • Familiar with web security, accessibility and internationalization
  • Good working knowledge of Bash Scripting & Linux
