SOFTWARE DEVELOPER IN TEST - OUTSIDE IR35 - INITIAL 6 MONTHS
One of Lorien's leading public sector clients is looking to hire an experienced Software developer to join their Glasgow based team on an initial 6 month contract with chance of extension.
- Technology knowledge - good experience of:
- Best Practice test approaches
- Test Automation in CI/CD pipelines (specifically, GitHub Actions)
- Selenium/WebDriver test automation
- Java and JavaScript
- BDD test tooling (Gherkin/Cucumber)
- Proficient around Linux based environments
- AWS environment experience
- Mariadb/Oracle/Mysql/AWS Aurora experience (2 or more)
- 2+ years (within the past 5 years) of MySQL scripting, ideally as part of a cloud Data Migration project
- Experience of AWS data migration testing, including Athena for S3, AWS Data Migration Service and/or other tooling for testing cloud data migration projects
- Self-management and proactive risk assessed decision making
- Capable of making and guiding effective decisions, explaining clearly how the decision has been reached.
- Able to make decisions characterised by managed levels of risk and complexity and recommend decisions as risk and complexity increase.
- Take ownership of problems and proactively resolves technical problems, ensuring that technical solutions continue to meet business requirements
- Bridging the gap between the technical and non-technical
- Translate technical concepts between infrastructure, delivery management and service management so they are understood by all
- Able to speak on behalf of technical and service management teams and facilitate the relationships with indirect stakeholders
- Able to share knowledge and mentor (potentially non-technical) colleagues
