Part Time Finance Manager - Sports Creative Agency

We're seeking a new part-time Finance Manager on behalf of our client to work with the leadership team to manage the overall finance function, working with a fractional CFO and liaising with external accountants.

The role is perfect for a financial professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for sport, but wants a part-time role.

As Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in steering the financial health of the agency. Your expertise will guide strategic financial planning, budget management, and fiscal reporting. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure financial practices align with our business objectives, identify ways to improve financial processes, and ultimately support their growth in the sports marketing industry.

This is suitable for someone who has a strong background in finance, a strategic mindset, and a love for sports.

Financial Accounting

  • Management of sales and purchase ledger
  • Manage accurate and timely customer invoicing from Productive (professional services software) to Xero
  • Review of aged debtors and debtor collection
  • End of month journals (accruals, prepayments, deferred income and accrued income)
  • Month End Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of month end to trial balance stage

Banking

  • Purchase ledger entries using Dext
  • Regular bank reconciliations
  • Foreign exchange supplier management
  • Cashflow management via spreadsheet
  • Review and management of bank account balances across the company
  • Preparation of regular supplier payment runs
  • Management and reconciliation of company credit cards and Revolut account

Pensions

  • Management of auto-enrolled and directors pension scheme (joiners, leavers, payments)

Payroll

  • Management of monthly payroll changes with outsourced payroll bureau (starters, leavers, salary changes etc.)
  • Posting of payroll journals & reconciliation of HMRC accounts

Reporting

  • Support CFO in preparation of:

i. Weekly CEO dashboard
ii. Monthly management accounts
iii. Reforecasts

  • Maintain accuracy of invoice tracker in conjunction with project managers

Budgeting/Forecasting

  • Support the development and management of annual budget

Overhead Management

  • Review of overheads on a quarterly basis
  • Investigating and recommending cost saving initiatives

Year End Statutory Accounts

  • Work with accountants to provide schedules for year end accounts and corporation tax

Requirements

  • Part qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3-4 years' experience working in a financial role
  • Must have very strong Xero experience
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange transactions
  • Experience of agency businesses or other professional services would be an advantage
  • Must be tech-savvy, being able to navigate office systems efficiently
