Finance Assistant

Summer Fields is a boarding and day school for approximately 320 boys aged 4 to 13 years. The school is situated in Summertown, two miles north of the centre of Oxford and has 70 acres of superb grounds.

We are seeking to appoint a Part-time Finance Assistant to support the Finance Officer with the processing of the Purchase Ledger and to assist with general administration. Key responsibilities include ensuring the smooth running of the Purchase Ledger; processing supplier invoices and processing authorised payments. Other duties include assisting with the Fees Ledger and placing orders.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with Purchase Ledgers. The commitment to thorough and accurate record-keeping and a high level of attention to detail is essential for this position. You will also have excellent numeracy and IT skills including proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook. This is a 16-20-hour per week position working all year round. Some flexibility with hours and days of work can be arranged.

Job Description

Purpose of the Job: To be responsible for the smooth running of the Purchase Ledger function providing effective and efficient support to the Finance Director and Finance Officer. To provide administrative support to Bursary team when required.
