The Principal Standardisation Engineer at United Utilities embodies the technical core of the company's standardisation efforts. In-person site attendance in Lingley Mere, Warrington is required three days per week to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration, alongside some travel to other sites in the North West and flexible hours to support work-life balance. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the delivery of discipline-specific work for standard products within the capital program, including design, documentation, and adherence to deadlines.
- Serve as a central figure for standard asset knowledge and assess deviations from product standards.
- Drive the integration of standardisation into the capital program, contributing to the Standardisation Strategy and its implementation. Develop partnerships with supply chain entities to advance market-led standard products and continuous improvement with emerging technologies.
- Mentor developing engineers and represent the company in external technical collaborations, while also providing input for corporate governance decisions.
Skills & Experience:
- Chartered or Incorporated professional or demonstrable equivalent level of expertise
- Detailed working knowledge and experience of standardisation, procedures and technologies
- Experience in leading successful multi-disciplinary resources in a highly technical and commercial environment Hold a current UK/EU driving licence
