Learning and Development Officer

Job Type: Full-Time - 40 hours a week, 3 days on-site

Key Responsibilities:

Operational:

- Create and maintain mandatory training plans for all functional areas of the business and ensure they are effectively carried out and up-to-date.
- Ensure all operational personnel are trained to the required Health & Safety and Food Safety standards, as well as the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) defined for their respective job roles.
- Understand and scope SOPs where required for defined activities, reviewing existing SOPs at the defined frequency to ensure best practice is maintained.
- Ensure attendance at T3 meetings for days present on-site by the Learning & Development team and provide updates against L&D activity and performance against KPIs.
- Support both internal and external audits by gathering and collating requested documentation.
- Present and answer questions in an audit environment, whether internal or external.

Non-Operational:

- Partner with identified stakeholders, including non-operational line managers, on a regular basis, supporting them with their team's development plans. Identify requirements, offer guidance, and provide options with budgets and timescales.
- Design and deliver a broad range of training packages, identified through Training Needs Analyses (TNAs) conducted with stakeholders. This includes both technical and soft skills training packages.
- Organize external Learning & Development interventions for the site and functional colleagues, selecting best-in-class training providers.
- Evaluate, measure, and trend collated data for all learning and development activities delivered across the site and support departments, making recommendations as required.
- Coach and mentor on-the-job mentors in best practice training delivery.

Systems & Knowledge:

- Manage and maintain the integrity of the Dayforce Learning Management System (LMS) for the site, ensuring compliance is upheld by all stakeholders.
- Uphold and develop your own operational and product knowledge as well as your continuing professional development (CPD).
- Escalate any compliance risks to the L&D Manager or relevant authority at the earliest opportunity.
- Support in any ad-hoc Learning & Development projects as required.
- Act as the point of contact and deputize for the Group Learning & Development Manager when they are out of the business.

Required Experiences, Knowledge, and Capabilities:

- Ability to communicate effectively upwards, downwards, and sideways.
- Experience and understanding of individual development requirements and the ability to create learning pathways to support these.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Highly organized with strong planning and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Target-driven with high standards of delivery and consistency.
- Ability to work collaboratively to ensure all parties are fully engaged.
- Energetic and self-motivated.
- Demonstrated ability to encourage and motivate others.
- Qualification in learning, education, or training (preferred).
- CIPD Level 3 or above (preferred).
- Coaching and mentoring experience.
