Reed have partnered with a family run company based in Warmley, South Glos to recruit a reliable and experienced individual to join as a Van Driver/Stores Assistant.
In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the Procurement Team by managing stock levels, minimising stock loss, and ensuring that engineers receive supplies promptly.
Full access to a company vehicle for job-related transportation.
Duties:
- Efficiently and safely transport goods and materials to various locations using a company vehicle provided for work purposes.
- Communicate with the store's operative, site engineers, office staff, and the procurement manager regarding stock.
- Carry out pre-planned site clearances, with assistance for lifting materials when required.
- Return and collect goods from supply chains, ensuring proper documentation is obtained.
- Coordinate with engineers to agree upon delivery times.
- Perform general store tasks before and after deliveries to effectively manage stock levels.
- Adhere to the company's Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies.
- Safely operate a company vehicle, load and unload cargo, ensuring items are properly secured.
- Plan routes and navigate to destinations using GPS or maps, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and signatures.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
Required Skills:
- A full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years.
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Highly motivated, able to work well individually and within a team.
- Capable of handling a heavy workload and demonstrating good organisational skills.
- IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to help improve daily working practices.
