Service & Installation Engineer

We have an opportunity available for a Service & Installation Engineer to join our team in the Manchester area. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary.

Monmouth Scientific Limited (MSL) is a market leading UK based manufacturer of clean air solutions (Filtration Fume Cabinets, Biological Safety Cabinets, Laminar Air, and ISO Class Cleanrooms) for a diverse market base including laboratory, research, pathology, forensics, pharmaceutical, electronics and aerospace.

MSL employs over 60 people and are part of the SDI Group who specialise in the scientific industry.

Responsibilities of the Service & Installation Engineer:

  • To gain a thorough technical understanding of our full range of products and their respective servicing requirements, in line with the latest British Standards, including legal (digital) Service paperwork completion
  • To drive nationwide, predominantly Manchester and surrounding area, to represent Monmouth face to face with our customers in a professional, well-presented and courteous manner (overnight hotel stays fully expensed)
  • To deliver, install, commission, service and maintain our wide range of laboratory equipment and clean areas at Customer premises
  • To provide Customer support and training during delivery, commissioning & installation of new products
  • To deal with Customer enquiries, and when necessary, complaints, when in the field, and report objectively on Customer satisfaction as and when required
  • To undergo ongoing product and application training, both internal and external, to maintain individual skills and keep up to date with the latest production and servicing concepts
  • To undertake adhoc duties, tasks or activities required or deemed necessary, as we may reasonably expect
  • To adhere to all Health & Safety policies & procedures issued by the Company at all times

Essential key skills we're looking for in our Service & Installation Engineer:

  • Excellent attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and a practical ‘adapt and overcome' attitude
  • High personal standards and a ‘driven' approach to work, willing to accept responsibility
  • Ability to follow processes and quality-controlled standards of work, in line with Company procedures
  • Proficient organisational and workload management skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and re-prioritise as required, to meet a continuously-changing delivery schedule
  • Calm disposition under pressure, able to make effective decisions and work to tight deadlines
  • Personable nature, with effective communication and listening skills, able to liaise confidently with staff and Customers at all levels
  • Tact and diplomacy when on site, with the ability to deal with multiple Customer queries at once
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Grade "C" in English Language and Mathematics

Essential / Desirable Skills:

  • Essential--- Industry-related service & installation experience
  • Essential--- Competency in electrical skills (17th/18th Edition, Apprenticeship qualified, desirable)
  • Desirable--- CSCS Card, IPAF qualified for Cherry Picker & Boom Lift
