Job Title: Part-Time Accounts Assistant

Location: Southend

Remuneration: £27,000 to £30,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Contract Details: Part-Time, Permanent, 30 hours per week

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 2/2.30pm (flexible for the right person)

Are you looking for a part-time role as an Accounts Assistant? Our client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of their organisation while enjoying a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Log into the system daily to check cash receipts and ensure accurate balance
  • Verify and prepare payments for wages on a weekly basis
  • Reconcile accounts and update records on a monthly basis
  • Post invoices, match receipts, and process payment requests promptly
  • Maintain accurate sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring all documents are filed appropriately
  • Utilise various software systems for cash postings and customer invoicing
  • Assist with credit control and debt management tasks
  • Collaborate with various teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Support the payroll process by inputting holidays, calculating averages, and generating reports
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding purchase orders and invoices

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in accounts or finance-related role
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and problem-solving mindset
