My client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Temporary Technical Author with a strong background in the precast industry to join their team. The primary responsibility of this role is to review, proof, and correct their technical manuals, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to industry standards. This role will be required to go into their offices in Lancaster 1 day a week. This role is outside IR35 but requires the candidate to go through either Umbrella or Ltd Company. Immediate start - 12 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the drafted technical manual thoroughly to identify and correct any technical inaccuracies, inconsistencies, or gaps.
- Provide expert knowledge and insights specific to the precast industry to enhance the quality and accuracy of the manual.
- Collaborate with the technical writing team to ensure all engineering concepts are clearly and accurately represented.
- Suggest and implement improvements to technical content, diagrams, and illustrations as needed.
- Ensure the manual meets all relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Validate all engineering calculations, designs, and methodologies included in the manual.
- Assist in finalising the layout and organisation of the manual to ensure ease of use and comprehensibility for the intended audience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in the precast concrete industry.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
