Teaching Learning and Assessment (TLA) Coach

Weston college is seeking to appoint a passionate and inspirational Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA) Coach.

This role will have a specific focus on our work-based learning and apprenticeship provision.

As part of the Quality and Learning Team, the successful candidate will play an integral role in improving the quality of education cross college, ensuring that all learners and apprentices receive an outstanding experience. They will seek out professional learning opportunities ensuring up to date knowledge of TLA pedagogy, and display our core values of integrity, confidentiality, and excellence across the entire role.

This is a full-time post, working 37 hours per week.

Day to day of the role

  • Support the development of teachers and assessors TLA pedagogy, ensuring their practice focusses on the development of learners and apprentices' skills, knowledge and behaviours.
  • Provide coaching support to staff in line with their improvement plans.
  • Undertake key activities as part of the TLA Review Policy including learning reviews, developmental observations, and Quality Review Activities.
  • Be an active member of the Quality and Learning Team, supporting TLA managers to improve provision and promote awareness of the requirements of the Education Inspection Framework ensuring that the College is ready for external review including inspection.

Required skills and qualifications

  • A degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work.
  • Hold an appropriate teaching or assessing qualification: A Teaching Qualification (min Level 5) or

TAQA qualification (Min Level 3 CAVA)

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning pedagogy
  • Experience of delivering staff development or training sessions in teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorials.
