EAL Teaching Assistant (Fluent Pashto Speaker) Location: Barnet, London Pay: £83 - £96 A day Full time Start Date: September 2024 / ASAP Contract Type: Long-term, Full-time Free CPD and Constant support with interviewing

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant who speaks fluent Pashto to join our vibrant and inclusive school community in Barnet. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who are new to the English language, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with EAL needs, focusing on those who speak Pashto.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for EAL students.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to create an inclusive classroom environment.

Deliver one-on-one and small group support sessions to help students improve their English language skills.

  • Help students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of EAL students to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that celebrates cultural diversity.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in Pashto and English.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in an EAL capacity.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by EAL students and strategies to support their learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for education.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A relevant qualification in education or support work is desirable but not essential.
