Lead Engineer - Requirements
- Mechanical Bias
- Experience working in a similar environment is a must
- Team player willing to drive other staff in delivering the customer's requirements
- Highly motivated and flexible to deal with constantly changing demands with a fast-paced production environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A good knowledge and understanding of health and safety is essential
- People management skills.
- Candidates must be self driven to make improvements, have a positive attitude to change and take pride in their work
- A willingness to multi-skill is essential 8. Have a genuine sense of urgency during breakdowns or interventions
- A flexible working attitude is required to meet the needs of the team and business
- Candidates must be willing to cover some overtime as some weekend and bank holiday cover is required
Lead Engineer - Responsibilities
- Observe all Health & Safety site rules
- Identify & report potential hazards
- Identify and highlight opportunities to continuously improve safety practices
- Utilise health and safety tools made available including but not limited to SSOW, lock off , method statements, "take 5", permit procedures, and control of contractors etc.;
- Ensure all accidents are reported in line with Company policy.
- Ensure that an effective daily hand over is achieved
- Ensure PMI are carried out effectively and efficiently
- Ensure that all components are in the allocated area ready for the PMI
- Ensure that two weeks of PMI components are available on rolling week basis. Liaise with supervisors to ensure all parts are available
- Ensure teams are available and ready to complete PMI. This will include the normal working week and weekend work where required
- Aim to have all machines running 15 minutes before the end of allocated PMI duration.
- Ensure that there is an engineering presence until machine has been handed over to the operator, and that the machine is running without issues
- Attend PMI meeting weekly
- Liaise with production team leader daily to resolve all machine issues
- Maintain machine logs in collaboration with the on shift production team leaders
- Liaise with OEM service providers to maximise efficiency and deliver on identified maintenance requirements
- Developed PMI's and agree with production requirements and confirm plan weekly with the engineering manager
- Attend breakdowns on all machines as requested
- Report any training requirements to the appropriate engineering supervisor
- Engage with first line operatives ensuring that operator maintenance schedules are adhered to
- Ensure that the hand safety requirements are adhered to at all times
- Responsible for calling in additional engineers when on duty
- Ongoing project work
- Installation, commissioning and maintenance of all equipment
- Recording details of maintenance to meet our requirements and our regulators standards
- Communicating all issues and results with the engineering team
- Assisting the mechanical engineers where needed
- Sourcing and ordering spare parts
- Communicating with machine manufacturers
- Ensuring smooth running of your shift
- Maintaining a clean & tidy working environment
- Ensure shift hand overs are efficient and effective
