Sport Operations Coordinator

THE POST - Sport Operations Coordinator

Based at the UWS Dumfries Campus, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the operational delivery of sports facilities, activities and services. In this role you will undertake duties in relation to UWS sports activities, including fitness sessions and delivering gym induction programmes. You will also be responsible for a range of administration duties and cleaning and maintenance tasks.

In discussion with the Sport Operations Manager, the post holder will have delegated authority to plan, organise, make decisions to progress their own work, the work of the Sport Operations Assistants to ensure effective service delivery. You must be pro-active and use your own initiative and judgement to prioritise daily tasks and use this judgement to make operational decisions that may impact users and services. This role will include the supervision of grade 2 team members where required.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • HND qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in sport/physical activity operations
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Demonstrate a high level of organisational skills both as an individual and as part of a staff team
  • A developed understanding of relevant health & safety and security requirements of self and others
  • Commitment to delivering high quality service and supporting an outstanding user experience
