Purpose of Role: As a Capital Projects Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering a variety of mixed-use capital expenditure (capex) projects across The Crown Estate's London & Regional portfolios. Your focus will be on ensuring projects are completed to standard, within schedule, and within budget. You'll collaborate closely with internal business support units and framework supply chain organizations to achieve project success.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Manage the delivery of capex schemes and projects within Central London and Regional portfolios, ensuring consistent project management practices.
  • Lead and coordinate diverse internal and external project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Meet financial and sustainability targets set by The Crown Estate.
  • Proactively assist in transitioning projects into operational readiness (‘soft landings').
  • Proactively Manage business risks, including health, safety, wellbeing and environmental and take timely action when required.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal business units on building-related issues.
  • Collaborate with other functions within The Crown Estate to achieve organizational goals.
  • Apply established principles of agility, empowerment, innovation, and customer focus.
  • Develop project briefs and execution plans in alignment with the Capex Projects Director.
  • Conduct regular project team meetings to monitor progress and quality of delivery.
  • Coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders to manage interfaces.
  • Contribute to annual capital planning and program-level phasing as needed.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

  • Proven experience in delivering internal fit-out and repurposing projects, preferably in the Central London and/ or Regional market across various sectors.
  • Strong track record of developing and executing innovative ideas within project management/building surveying.
  • Commercial acumen and market awareness, with a focus on unlocking value through decision-making.
  • MRICS qualified (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Expertise in delivering sustainable design approaches and implementing new technologies in projects.
  • High level of technical understanding of building processes and construction methodologies, applying industry best practice.
  • Robust technical expertise enabling effective collaboration and the confidence to engage teams in design discussions
  • Ability to communicate complex subjects clearly and succinctly.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Highly motivated team player with the ability to work independently to achieve goals.
