Interim Schools Finance Manager – Full or Part time
Are you an experience Bursar or Schools Finance Manager? Are you looking for your next contract opportunity and are either immediately available or on a short notice period? Do you have experience of liaising with Headteachers and providing sound financial guidance?
Robertson Bell are working with a local authority to recruit an Interim Schools Finance Manager for a minimum of six month, with the potential to be extended. The position offers hybrid working with occasional office and school working.
The main responsibility of the role is to be the most senior finance professional for the school and to keep a small number of schools up to date on their financial situation. Additionally:
- Working with the Headteachers in the schools to give them up to date financial information.
- Liaising with Headteachers and other senior education professionals in adding value to the future and helping them make decisions which could have large financial impacts.
- Ensure that the transactional processing for the schools is completed to a high standard and that the school is compliant.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
There is the potential to do this role on either a full time or part time basis. The best candidate for the role will:

Have strong communication skills and be confident working with a variety of stakeholders in different organisations.

Be comfortable and up to date with school finance regulation and legislation.
