Key Duties
- Plan and manage daily transport operations from account handler, client and internal department requirements
- Plan personnel allocation in each department, ensuring sufficient cover is in place depending on current workload.
- Assisting in planning training and assessment for warehouse departmental staff.
- Pro-actively keep open contacts with rigging Gaffers and best boys to fill in information gaps around scheduling and recording in the system.
- Ensure the leased fleet of vans is managed and serviced according to need and contract.
- Communicate with the returns department to organise off loads, refuelling of generators and vehicle returns.
- Working with the returns department to prioritise labour, space and truck allocations.
- Manage the various operational departments within the branch.
- Take primary responsibility for briefing drivers and ensuring standards, are communicated, such as load security and customer/supplier paperwork.
- Liaise with shipping co-ordinator re international freight movements.
- Work with department technicians and supervisors to predict workload, and plan around absence and holiday cover.
- To take part/assist in return-to-work interviews and absent management procedures.
- To escalate potential breaches of conduct and areas of concern to the Head of Lighting.
- Conducting investigations and disciplinaries within Company policy, with assistance from the HR department.
- Communicating and enforcing rules and procedures around the warehouse, escalating issues when standards are not met.
- Verifying and signing off staff and agency time sheets in conjunction with the Finance team.
- Carrying out new starter inductions.
- Managing and recording the issue of PPE.
- Working with the Operations Director to organise health and safety related training and competence assessments.
- Conducting regular workplace inspections.
- Recording transport and personnel bookings for financial records.
- Co-ordinating warehouse stock transfers with other branches.

Person Specification
- Industry experience preferred, in film and television lighting rental and sales.
- Previous warehouse management experience is essential.
- Strong people management experience (performance, absence, conduct etc).
- Enthusiastic and highly motivated, with a strong business acumen and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure, both individually and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong track record of building and managing Teams.
- Technical understanding of lighting equipment and an interest in film production techniques.
- A good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to go above and beyond to get the job done.
