Health & Safety Advisor

Health & Safety Officer

You will promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation and ensure that colleagues are adhering to current health and safety expectations by creating and implementing health and safety policies and procedures. Additionally, you will support the business Management Team in identifying areas for continuous improvement and implementing best practices as the norm. The role is hybrid working with 3 days in the office or on-site visits, and 2 days working from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced
  • Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
  • Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy
  • Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
  • Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the pharmaceutical / distribution industry.
  • Engage staff in the workplace with use of H&S notice boards and open door policy

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards
  • Proactive with a "can do" attitude
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload effectively
  • Proficient IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Ability to work openly and collaboratively to maximize overall organizational health
  • Competent in training delivery is an advantage
  • Full UK driving license with own car

Location: Redditch (Travel required to other sites x 4 in the UK)

Salary: £45,000

Hours: 37.5hrs per week Mon - Fri
