Critical to the implementation of iStream Superlight are integral modules and systems engineered to deliver a range of electrical functionalities - these technologies also being scaleable to serve the delivery demands of any specific platform configuration.

With multiple sites in Shalford and Warwick, Gordon Murray Technologies continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for an Engineer - HV Diagnostics to join our Team in one of our Midland based locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on the development and delivery of the GMT High Voltage System systems covering aspects of powertrain diagnostics, electrification diagnostics and thermal diagnostics over multiple programs delivering into multiple markets.
  • Analyse and define requirements relating to diagnostics based on customer specification, supplier software and homologation requirements.
  • Deliver and develop core GMT powertrain diagnostics from standard powertrain calibration delivered by suppliers.
  • Engage with suppliers and internal stakeholder including service and software teams to ensure strategy can deliver diagnostic requirements.
  • Support key stakeholders including in the delivery of powertrain diagnostics to support homologation activities.
  • Deliver and develop core GMT electrification diagnostics, to include aspects such as high voltage safety and charging, from standard calibration delivered by suppliers.
  • Work with internal GMT teams and stakeholders to deliver thermal diagnostics for electrification components.
  • Plan and execute diagnostic development activities on range of vehicles in conjunction with wider powertrain test and validation team.
  • Interface and integrate rig-based testing activities with those performed at vehicle level.
  • Produce high quality reporting and documentation to provide a suitable audit trail of the diagnostic exercises completed.
  • Develop and execute DV plan relating to diagnostics.
  • Support powertrain validation as appropriate.
  • Support climatic test trips and vehicle builds.
  • Support and deliver internal and external documentation required around vehicle diagnostics.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Significant experience of electric powertrain within an automotive engineering environment.
  • Experience of vehicle diagnostic calibration utilising toolsets such as ETAS INCA.
  • Experience of vehicle testing utilising measurement software such as Vector CANalyzer.
  • Demonstrable understanding of high voltage architectures and underlying principles and technologies including thermal management, high voltage safety and control strategies.
  • Proven track record of working on complex vehicle control issues around diagnostics.
  • Experience in analysing software strategy guides and documentation in order to deliver diagnostics at the vehicle level.
  • Ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to successfully deliver vehicle programs.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the V-Cycle and its application in an automotive environment.
  • Articulate, self-motivated, and able to work well on own initiative.
  • Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
  • High Voltage training to Senior Authorised Person or IMI Level 4 preferred.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
  • No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
