Nigel Wright Group is delighted to be working exclusively with a key repeat client, leading their search for an Indirect Sourcing Commodity Specialist.

The role will be hybrid working, with a minimum 2 days on site working and occasional UK travel to meet suppliers.

The Role

The Indirect Sourcing Commodity Specialist reports into a Group Sourcing Director and will have standalone responsibility for all UK Indirect Procurement spend

  • Indirect procurement responsibility (both operational and strategic) for the UK factory, covering a variety of spend – Facilities Management, Capex, Consumables etc
  • Global supplier relationship/performance management, sourcing, contract negotiation through to contract management
  • Supporting key site level projects - adopting a ‘Business Partnering' approach with internal stakeholders – acting as single UK point of contact and escalation with regards to Indirect procurement requirements, ensuring that their requirements are understood and met
  • Collaborating closely with global category management team to ensure that UK contracts/sourcing strategies are aligned with Group, whilst designing and implementing local sourcing strategy

About You

To be successful in this role, the Indirect Sourcing Commodity Specialist will be/have:

  • an experienced Procurement professional from within the Manufacturing sector (given the standalone UK responsibility). Other sectors may be considered provided that candidates possess a broad variety and depth of indirect procurement experience
  • Proven strategic indirect procurement track record essential
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, positive can-do attitude, comfortable with operational, hands-on procurement, tender management
  • Engaging, strong communicator, confident in communicating and building relationships cross functionally with stakeholders of all levels, specifically Engineering, Manufacturing and Production/Operations
  • Adaptable to the changing requirements within the business, strong prioritisation skills
  • Willing to travel to visit supplier network – medium level of travel within UK, occasional travel to Sweden
