Receptionist in a school

**Job Description

As the School Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors. Your role is essential in creating a positive and efficient front office environment. You will handle a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support the smooth operation of the school.

**Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome students, parents, staff, and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, taking and relaying messages accurately.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including email correspondence.
  • Maintain visitor logs and ensure security protocols are followed.
  • Provide basic information and assistance to students, parents, and visitors.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the school calendar.
  • Coordinate with teachers and staff to facilitate communication and information flow.
  • Handle inquiries and concerns with discretion and confidentiality.

**Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with using office equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience of using SIMS is desirable, but training is available.

Term Time only

37 hours a week Monday- Friday

Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 4pm

Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm (hours are negotiable for the right candidate)
