Reed is actively seeking a Class Teacher for an independent special school, dedicated to supporting young people with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs, alongside Speech, Language, and Communication Needs. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a special school that is deeply committed to Equity in Education.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to students with SEMH and SLCN, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement the school's core values of Equity, Resilience, and Togetherness in daily activities and teaching methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching strategies and student outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and adapt to the evolving educational needs of our students.
  • Engage with the wider school community to promote participation, strengthen relationships, and uphold high expectations for behaviour and personal development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in special education, particularly with SEMH and SLCN, is highly desirable.
  • Strong commitment to the school's mission of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and motivating students and colleagues.
  • Ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners.
