The Role
We are looking for a Financial Controller/Head of Finance who will be a key player in enhancing the financial processes and ensuring the accuracy of transactional flows within their organization. You will be managing transactional activities across various facets of their operations, such as our proprietary marketplace software, ERP system, and banking operations. You'll also be responsible for managing key relationships with outsourced accountants and payment solution providers. Your experience will be crucial in identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities. Although starting as a contract, there is a strong chance for this to develop in a full-time permanent role thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage financial operations of the business.
- Make process improvements to reduce the month end close process whilst ensuring accuracy.
- Lead the business through their first international audit.
- Lead on tax and compliance obligations. Including VAT returns and transfer pricing.
- Take lead on improvements to the finance system to improve efficiencies.
- Ad hoc project based work for the Finance Director.
Essential Skills
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
- Experience managing a finance function.
- Ability to take lead on audits, controls, and system improvements.
- Willingness to roll up their sleeves and be hands on with finance.
- Ability to be adaptable and take on a wide range of responsibilities.
- Problem solver with an analytical mindset.
- Available Immediately or on short notice.
Bonus Skills
- Previous experience as a finance leader in an SME, Start-Up, or Scale-Up.
- Experience in Tech, SaaS, or online marketplace business.
- Proficient user of Xero.
Day Rate: £450-£550 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Location: NW London/Hybrid - 3 days per week in office.
