The Customer Technical Manager is responsible for providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer key performance indicators (KPIs). This role involves managing technical development for a key customer account to foster growth. The position ensures compliance with critical food safety, integrity, and legal standards, while optimizing product quality to drive sustainable sales growth. It also supports the broader business and its stakeholders in meeting growth and sustainability goals. This role reports into the Head of Technical.

Description

  • Serve as the main point of contact for customer teams, including hosting and accompanying them on visits to the site and supplier sites.
  • Ensure alignment with customer expectations regarding quality, food safety, integrity, and human rights.
  • Actively participate in the development and communication of customer technical policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy and currency of customer specifications and communicate them effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external agents to stay informed of technological advancements and continuously improve products and processes.
  • Use data to monitor performance and take necessary actions to maintain customer confidence.
  • Work with developers, buyers, and other stakeholders on new product development to enhance business performance.
  • Ensure systems and processes are optimized for a more efficient and cost-effective business.

Profile

  • Proven track record in managing product quality and information.
  • Must have experience with suppliers/retailers shown throughout career.
  • Knowledge in food safety/ HACCP/BRC
  • Experience managing projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of packhouse systems, farm auditing, and agronomy (desired but not essential)
  • Industry experience in a retail-facing role, preferably in produce or prepared produce.
