Job Description:
As a KS1 SEMH Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students on a one-to-one basis. You will work closely with our very vulnerable pupils, including those who suffer from PTSD, Anxiety, EBD, and SEMH. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Teaching a classroom of students with their own unique challenges and strengths
- Developing and implementing individualized support plans to address the specific needs of each student.
- managing behaviour and using de-escalation techniques.
- Collaborating with other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring and documenting student progress and behaviour.
- Offering emotional support and guidance to students as they navigate their academic and personal challenges.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- ECT, PGCE or QTS Ideal - however strong applications for Unqualified Teacher Status welcome
- Relevant experience working with SEMH, PTSD, Anxiety, or EBD.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature.
- The ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- A genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable students.
