Our client is a reputable manufacturer in Heywood and has been established for many years due to continued growth are looking for a Tender Electrical Design Engineer.
We are recruiting for an individual who will take ownership of contracts at the point of handover of specification, you will also be able to provide a strong electrical engineering capability for all electrical control systems and have experience with electrical control design, specifying enclosures, controllers and other components.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Your day will be spent as part of an estimating/project engineering team, liaising
- with the shop floor and customers.
- Produce quotations from client specifications and line diagrams, with minimal.
information at times.
- Prepare rough hand sketches to pass on to the drawing office.
- Prepare bill of materials.
- Interact with customers and internal staff to resolve any issues.
- The role is varied and involves working with clients, purchasing, and sometimes
production staff to quote high-quality engineered products to all the major players in
their respective global industries.
About you
- Professional qualification in an engineering discipline (i.e. HNC, ONC, NVQ)
- Have undertaken an industrial placement or held a job within an Engineering Firm
- Good people skills, time management and attention to detail
- Be interested in Control Panel design for industrial products.
- Have some knowledge of PLC's and how they operate.
- Knowledge of control philosophy
- Managing design projects of different types
