Pay: £25,000 - 27,000 per annum

Synergy are currently looking for a Lab Support Technician to join our team who are working with a leading Pharmaceutical company based in Ware, Hertfordshire.

The Synergy Lab Support Technician will be a lab-based individual who will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the smooth daily running of the QC Labs at the Ware site, adhering to strict GMP regulations. Reporting into the Synergy Team Leader, the role holder will liaise daily with all members of the Synergy team and Client scientific teams across various departments, undertaking a wide range of lab support activities including Continuous Improvement (CI).

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Receipt and booking in of samples and materials
  • Ordering and tracking of general consumables, spares, and equipment, ensuring delivery to correct location, and receipting of goods
  • Consumable stock control within labs using Kanban systems and lean practises
  • Maintaining equipment spares and effective equipment storage
  • Performing and recording daily lab checks
  • Liaison with other service partners for engineering, waste management, cleaning, maintenance, and infrastructure issues
  • Coordination of waste disposal including but not limited to, solvents, sharps, discarded samples, solid waste bins
  • Vial labelling and aliquoting as necessary
  • Archiving of validation and other documentation
  • Takes active role in CI and sustainability activities, e.g., Kanban stock levels, 5S, recycling
  • Takes active role in general lab housekeeping
  • Involved with general housekeeping shutdowns

Candidate Requirements:

  • A Levels in science, HND in a scientific discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with working in a laboratory environment
  • Experience of working to work instructions and SOPs/Risk Assessments
  • Customer service focus, ability to work as a cohesive team
  • Good planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to use Microsoft office - e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of improvement activities
  • Experience of working within a regulated environment
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing/quality environment
  • Understanding of COSHH and/or lab safety
