Credit Controller, £28k - £32k, Woking
We are currently seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our client's finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in managing receivables and maintaining client relationships. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the financial health of our client's organisation by ensuring timely collections and managing credit risk.
Day-to-day duties in the role:
- Monitor debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtors DSO (days sales outstanding).
- Engage with customers to ensure invoices are clear for payment.
- Resolve queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices.
- Post payments to accounts and reconcile customer accounts on a regular basis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer contact information.
- Report to management on outstanding issues, whilst highlighting potential debtor problems.
- Conduct credit checks on new clients and manage credit limits.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to implement processes that ensure invoices are paid according to agreed credit terms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller.
- Strong understanding of the full billing and collections cycle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good negotiation skills and the ability to resolve conflicts amicably.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
