Vanguard is an investment company unlike any other. It was founded on a simple but revolutionary idea: that an investment company should manage its funds solely in the interests of its clients. We helped bring investing to the masses with the index fund. Index funds do not pick individual shares or bonds to beat the market, they track the performance of the entire market. Or as our Founder Jack Bogle put it, "Don't look for the needle in the haystack. Just buy the haystack!". We have stood for low-cost, uncomplicated investing ever since. Over the last 45 years people have come round to our way of thinking and more than 30 million investors worldwide now trust us with their money.

We're growing in Manchester!

In 2023 we opened a new office in the Landmark Building at St Peter's Square dedicated to continuing our core purpose; giving investors the best chance for investment success. Manchester is a natural home for Vanguard; a city that matches our ambition and diversity. We are building a team here that showcases our values of Care, Inclusion, Curiosity and Excellence. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Description Summary

As Client Services Associate, you will be responsible for providing helpful, friendly and high-quality support to our clients, when they need them.

In return our client offers an attractive base salary, annual performance bonus paid in January, Partnership bonus paid in June, and competitive benefits. Working days are Monday to Friday (no regular weekend work!) and staff in most roles work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with Mondays and Fridays working from home. As one of the world's largest asset management firms, our client can offer unrivalled career opportunities in Manchester, the UK, and further afield.

Core Job Responsibilities

As Client Services Associate, you will;

  • Handle and prioritise client requests by phone and email. Follow up with internal partners or clients directly to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Identify applicable internal partners to collaborate with to develop solutions.
  • Ensure client inquiries are resolved and communicated within defined service levels. Ensure all communications are within regulatory guidelines and are accurate, clear, and concise.
  • Develop knowledge of funds, products, and services, as well as the overall Financial Services industry.

Qualifications for the job

Experience working within financial/professional services is mandatory to be considered for this position.

You will be a brilliant fit for this role if you can demonstrate your experience in client services. Ideally, you will have worked in the Financial Services industry or professional services, and already have a good understanding of financial products. You will thrive if you love working in a team dedicated to helping people.

Inclusion Statement

Our client's continued commitment to diversity and inclusion is firmly rooted in its culture. Every decision they make to best serve their clients, crew (internal employees are referred to as crew), and communities is guided by one simple statement: "Do the right thing."

They believe that a critical aspect of doing the right thing requires building diverse, inclusive, and highly effective teams of individuals who are as unique as the clients they serve. They empower their crew to contribute their distinct strengths to achieve their core purpose through their values.

When all crew members feel valued and included, our clients' ability to collaborate and innovate is amplified, and we are united in delivering on that core purpose: to take a stand for all investors, to treat them fairly, and to give them the best chance for investment success.

Commitment to equal employment opportunity

Our client is an equal opportunity employer who is committed to providing all crew members with a working environment that is free from discrimination, prejudice and bias. Through this Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Policy, our client reaffirms its commitment to equal employment opportunity for all applicants and crew members without regard to race, colour, national origin or ancestry, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, veteran or military status. In addition, they prohibit discrimination based on genetic information, as well as any other protected characteristic.
