Manual Lathe Operator
Location: Halesowen Hours: 38 hours per week. Double Day shift. Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 including shift allowance.
I am pleased to be recruiting for a manual lathe operator for my Halesowen based client who is one of the market leaders in the heavy engineering sector.
I am recruiting for a manual lathe operator to join the team in the machine shop reporting into the machine shop supervisor.
The successful manual lathe operator will have the following experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a manual lathe operator or machinist.
- Exposure to understanding and following basic CNC programs. (Siemens preferred).
- Working from engineering drawings to plan out how to most effectively machine each component.
- Use of overhead cranes though training will be provided.
- General preventative maintenance such as swarf removal and coolant checks.
- Checking and inspection of own work at beginning, in process and completion of work.
- Working to master route cards and required specifications.
- Worked in a heavy engineering environment.
The ideal candidate:
- A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent relevant experience.
- A logical and analytical approach
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
Location: Halesowen, West Midlands Hours: 38 hours per week, double day rotating shift. Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 p/a including shift allowance.
