What you'll do:
As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our client's IT operations. Your role will involve providing technical consultancy across various teams while actively supporting the delivery of an agreed IT Infrastructure, Modern Workplace and Cloud Strategy. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate these into effective Azure cloud solutions. Your expertise in designing and architecting Azure cloud infrastructure will ensure scalability, reliability, and high performance for our client's operations. Additionally, your ability to develop cloud migration strategies will facilitate seamless transitions of existing applications and workloads to Azure.
- Provide technical consultancy across IT Operations Teams
- Support the delivery of the agreed IT Infrastructure, Modern Workplace and Cloud Strategy
- Work closely with the Head of IT Operations and other engineers to execute IT strategies
- Design and deliver workstation configurations and standards using Microsoft Cloud technology and management platforms (Intune)
- Assess the impact of the IT Infrastructure, Operations and Cloud strategy across the enterprise
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs, objectives, and technical requirements in relation to Azure cloud solutions.
- Design and architect Azure cloud infrastructure ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance.
- Develop and implement cloud migration strategies to transition existing applications and workloads to Azure.
- Deploy and configure Azure services including virtual machines, networks, storage, identity management, and security.
- Develop and implement cloud governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Azure Cloud Engineer role will bring a wealth of experience in cloud consultancy, specifically with a focus on Microsoft Azure. You will have a strong academic background, ideally with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Your expertise in architecting and implementing Azure solutions, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, will be crucial to your success in this role. Additionally, your familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines will be highly beneficial. Your excellent communication and presentation skills will enable you to effectively convey complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- Proven experience as a Cloud Consultant or similar role with a focus on Microsoft Azure
- Strong knowledge in architecting and implementing Azure solutions including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
- In-depth understanding of Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Centre
- Experience with cloud migration and hybrid cloud environments
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or other relevant programming languages
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate are preferred
