Location - London with Hybrid working

Salary - £36,705 pro rata DOE (and London weighting)

Full-Time

Fixed Term Contract 3 months

Responsibilities for the role of Governance Administrator

  • Work as a member of the team responsible for providing a customer-focused and high-quality administration service to the governing council and its committees
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with members of the Council, governance and other committees and groups, as well as executive staff, by providing excellent administrative and committee support to help them discharge their duties effectively and by demonstrating high levels of customer focus, listening, and responding to individual and collective needs
  • Along with team colleagues, keep up to date and coordinate the annual calendar of meetings and contribute suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Cover the work of other team members during times of annual leave, time off in lieu, sickness, or other absence
  • Record and monitor financial and budget information and process payments/orders as required
  • Ensure that departmental administration costs, including travel and accommodation, are managed effectively within set budgets to enable the organisation to achieve the best value
  • Working as part of the team to ensure the administrative, secretariat, and governance processes run smoothly
  • This will also include working on the organisation's elections and appointments for 2025
  • Working closely with the designated Governance Advisors for each committee, you will plan and organise logistical arrangements for committee and management meetings efficiently
  • Organising diary dates, setting up online meetings via Microsoft Teams, booking meeting rooms, travel, and catering for face-to-face meetings, and organising AV requirements

Skills for the role of Governance Administrator

  • Proficient in office and administration systems and processes
  • Experienced in training or qualifications in business administration
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office packages
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues
  • Experience in office and business administration
  • Have a proven track record in delivering excellent customer experience
