Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Physiotherapist to join our team at Royal Derby Hospital on an acute inpatient ward. This position involves working within a dynamic multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality physiotherapy care and facilitate effective discharge planning for patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in an acute inpatient setting and a passion for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Treatment: Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in an acute setting, adapting approaches to meet patient needs.
- Discharge Planning: Coordinate and plan patient discharges, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and timely transitions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Engage and collaborate with the broader MDT to support comprehensive patient care, providing clear communication and updates.
- Patient Safety: Adhere to best practices in patient handling and care to maintain safety and efficacy in all treatment activities.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Clinical Expertise: Strong understanding of physiotherapy practices within an acute care environment, particularly around patient mobilization and discharge planning.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and the MDT, ensuring clarity and compassion in all interactions.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage caseloads in a high-volume setting, prioritizing based on patient acuity and clinical needs.
Essential Requirements
- Registration: Current HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration as a Physiotherapist.
- Experience: Proven discharge planning experience and recent experience within an acute inpatient ward setting.
