A respected Groundworks contractor based near Chandlers Ford is searching for an Estimator with Groundworks experience to join the business.
The company has been operating for over 20 years and has built up a strong reputation for providing high-quality groundworks infrastructure and civil engineering services to the UK's leading house builders across the South.
They undertake major groundworks projects for developers which include the construction of roads, sewers, deep drainage, enabling works, hard landscaping, foundations and infrastructure works.
The business is steadily growing and will consider either an Estimator or Senior Estimator who is looking for a long-term opportunity.
Key Responsibilities of the Estimator :
- Conduct detailed cost estimates for a variety of groundworks projects.
- Analyse project plans and specifications to develop accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and ensure timely submissions.
- Monitor and update project budgets, ensuring costs remain within agreed parameters.
- Provide support in negotiations with clients and suppliers.
Requirements of the Estimator :
- Proven experience as an Estimator with a focus on groundworks.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.
- Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
