Do you have BSL Level 1 qualification or above and looking to make a difference in the life of a Deaf child?
Remedy Education are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant who has BSL level 1 or above and who has a genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of Deaf children.
You will be working under the direction of the teacher of the Deaf, using a Total Communication approach, to enable access to learning for pupils with a hearing impairment in both their mainstream classroom and also in the Centre for the Deaf, with small group and one to one interventions.
This will include working with both the teacher of the Deaf and class teachers to support the learning, educational progress and inclusion of pupils with a hearing impairment.
Using a Total Communication approach, you would provide support so our Deaf pupils are able to access the curriculum and participate fully in all learning experiences. You would also promote independence in learning and other aspects of school life, as appropriate.
This is a three-form entry school, judged by OFSTED to be a good school. We are a diverse, inner-city school with a strong commitment to inclusive practice and an excellent reputation for teaching and learning.

- The ability and willingness to understand the needs of students from different social backgrounds, sensory impairments and special educational needs.
- Excellent oral and written communication in addition to their BSL communication.
