Elevation Recruitment are currently working with an industry leader in within construction, engineering and project management based in Halifax.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand the scope and specific requirements of each project.
- Evaluate historical data and current market trends to assess costs and identify potential risks.
- Participate in bid reviews and negotiations, providing expert insight and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Oversee and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Continuously monitor and refine estimating processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and analysis to senior management and clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating
- Proven track record of successfully estimating and securing projects of various sizes and complexities.
- In-depth knowledge of industry practices, building codes, and relevant regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
