Night Repair & Maintenance Supervisor

Thames Water is looking for a permanent Repair and Maintenance Night Supervisor.

As a Repair and Maintenance Night Supervisor, your role is to manage a set of R&M teams to deliver customer promises, and achieve regulatory commitments and company targets.

Your role will ensure your R&M teams operate compliantly with health and safety standards, work collaboratively with other TW functions to ensure customers receive a constant supply of good quality drinking water for your appointed areas.

  • Working hours are Sunday to Thursday 21:30 to 07:00
  • Location, Kidlington, OX5 1QT

What you will be doing as a Repair and Maintenance Night Supervisor

  • Create engagement in and lead a team of field technicians and operatives to repair and enhance the water network in the most timely and cost-effective manner
  • Provide on-going support to individuals teams through coaching, mentoring and excellent people performance management to drive efficiency
  • Ensure health and safety is complied with and that paramount importance is placed on health and safety throughout our repair and maintenance operations
  • Ensure high quality of repair and maintenance works in line with TW standards
  • Engage with our customers, councils and manage wider stakeholder relationships to help work get delivered in a timely manner with minimal disruption
  • Ensure R&M technicians and operatives are trained, skilled and available as required. Work in partnership with other business areas (e.g. Planning and Scheduling) to set-up and deliver an effective work-plan

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and procedures
  • Utilise analytical and problem-solving skills in high pressure environments
  • Employee relations/Performance Management
  • Leading H&S Investigations
  • In leading teams through change
  • Understanding of leakage/technology
  • A full UK driving licence
  • EUSR Water Hygiene card
  • Street works qualification (NRSWA)/SMSTS
  • Service Avoidance L2
  • First aid qualification
  • Asbestos and COSHH awareness
  • Abrasive wheels and manual handling training, as well as Confined Space awareness are desirable
