Key accountabilities
We are currently recruiting for a Plater Welder for our Westok division in Leeds. The main purpose of the role is to efficiently conduct plating / Mig Welding to draughtsman drawings, maintaining a safety and quality 1st approach including fabrication of structural steel and plate work
Role overview:
- Work Safely and provide work that meets our Quality standards (in line with ISO-9001).
- Use of MIG welding plant to produce fillet, and butt welds.
- Maintain condition of tools and equipment.
- Report damage or malfunction of equipment promptly.
- Experience in using air-arc to gouge / prepare weld areas.
- Visually inspect work
- Maintain a tidy workplace in line with company 5S procedures.
- Flexible enough to work additional hours, dictated by business workload as we endeavour to meet customer demand.
- Motivated to develop self in other critical process.
- Read from draughtsman drawings in 1st and 3rd angle projection
- Mark out / prepare plates and sections for manufacture
- Measure, and cut beams to size using oxy-propane torch, to meet drawing specification
- Construct final assembly to critical dimensions and tolerances
