A large 6th form college group with sites across North London are looking for an outstanding Work Placement Officer with a proven ability in supporting young people to join their team in March 2023.

The role:

The purpose of this role is to effectively source and secure work experience placements for full-time learners attending the 6th form colleges. You will work with a range of employers, staff and students, to ensure that the preparation, delivery and evaluation of work placements are relevant with a student-focused approach. You will work directly with students to ensure they are well-prepared for placements. Developing student employability skills is a key aspect of the role and you will work closely within the current support programme for those seeking alternatives to university. You will be working within the college's business support team but will be required to visit and provide support across all the colleges within the group and so the role will include travel.

The college group are keen to develop and improve their work-experience provision and are therefore ideally looking for a Work Placement officer with previous experience and the ability to bring their experience and skills to the role.

The college are looking for a Work Placement officer with the following:

  • a Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • at least two years' experience in a similar working environment
  • a track record of securing work experience placements.
  • experience of working with external agencies in relation to identifying vacancies and matching these with suitable candidates
  • experience of working with young people
