Health and Safety Manager

Looking for a new challenge in a well established company?

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be working to make sure the workplace meets all the legal requirements and that everyone complies with these.

You will also be:

  • responsible for establishing policies
  • establishing opportunities for improving conditions
  • communicating guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce
  • monitoring compliance to policies and laws by auditing polices, Safe Working Procedures and Risk Assessments.
  • investigating all accidents and near miss reports
  • identifying root cause and establish preventative actions.
  • ensuring full and accurate records are maintained
  • ensuring you are up to date with legislation changes
  • attending/conducting regular meetings with management and staff
  • liaising with external suppliers and contractors in respect of facility maintenance/improvements
  • training and presentationing health and safety matters and accident prevention

You will need:

  • a NEBOSH General Certificate (working to Diploma level or willing to do so)
  • experience of auditing and working with ISO accredited Management Systems (advantageous).
  • knowledge of current Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
  • experience of working ideally within a manufacturing environment.

Hours of work are 8:30 - 5pm Monday to Friday
