JOB DESCRIPTION: Site Supervisor - NDT - Energy from Waste
You will be home based, travelling nationally for weeklong shutdowns and the occasional trip to our North Lincolnshire Head Office for meetings and training. So, you will need to be flexible. You will also be expected to work overtime on site shutdowns, including some weekend work, which you will be paid for.
We carry out about 35 site Boiler Inspections per year in the UK and Ireland, so work is quite planned. Depending on the project, scope of work and duration, these could require a large team of your NDT technicians to gather data on boiler tubes & other site assets at the same time, so you'll need excellent planning skills.
You will ensure the efficient use of your field NDT team within the given outage window and manage ever-changing customer priorities. Your NDT team's inspection techniques will cover: Ultrasonics including Phased Array, Eddy Current, DPI and MPI/DPI. These are generally performed under Confined Space permits with strict legislation and site-specific rules.
You will supervise and coordinate most of these inspections, emphasising Health & Safety, data gathering, producing accurate reports and ensuring client satisfaction.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Site Supervisor - NDT - Energy from Waste
This is a brand-new role with a fantastic OTE. You will want to remain hands on as an engineer / NDT technician to supervise and lead a team of experienced NDT technicians on customer sites across the UK. This will include Energy from Waste sites, Refineries, Chemical Plants, Petrochemical sites and more.
You might be an experienced site engineer, field engineer, or an NDT Technician looking to progress into a managerial role as you already have some supervisory experience.
- You will have previous practical experience in a suitable position, either as an NDT technician or an NDT inspection role in suitable environment or site engineering experience on Energy from Waste sites / Petrochemical / Chemical Plants/ Refineries etc.
- Any practical experience in a supervisory / coordinator role would be very advantageous, but we will welcome your application with just the relevant site NDT experience.
- You will hold relevant trade qualifications - NVQ / C&G or equivalent - maybe CDM, SMSTS, Triple SSSTS and ideally have ECITB, CCNSG and Confined Space Medium Risk / City & Guilds (although training may be available if you are the right person though).
- You will need a full driving license and be eligible to work in the UK with no restrictions as be happy to work away where needed.
